Meet Ace

Meet Ace!

On February 23, 2019, spring training Opening Day, the ballpark introduced a new mascot. The furry blue mascot was presented to Goodyear’s Mayor Lord as a gift delivered by the Cleveland Guardians’ mascot, Slider, and the Reds’ mascot, Mr. Redlegs during pregame festivities.

He was introduced nameless. Fans were able to submit name suggestions through the ballpark’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels during the first week of the season and voted online for their favorite. His name, Ace, was announced on March 17th, during Goodyear Ballpark’s 10-year celebration.

Q&A WITH ACE

What are you?

I get that question a lot. I’m not anything in particular – just a fun, silly blue friend who loves baseball – and baseball fans

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When people call me Cookie Monster. We look nothing alike! Besides, I’m way better looking and I don’t even like cookies!

If you weren’t a mascot, what would you be?

I’d definitely be an F-35 pilot! That’s why I love my name Ace.

What’s your favorite ballpark food?

That’s tough. I like to eat. If I had to pick one though, it would be The Cheesy Changeup.
